Exact match domain sites with low quality content to suffer

Exact match domain sites very likely to be hit by Google search. A much needed action by Google to curb fly by night operators.

Post the Panda and Penguin update in its search algorithm Google algorithm is going to penalise the exact match domain sites with low quality content. For some time there have been a host of fly by night operators who entered the web space and challenged serious players. Imagine every individual challenging the likes of Flipkart, Jabong and any other online site who are trying hard to drive genuine traffic by working on quality content, efforts on creating online brand presence and so on so forth.

All an individual needs to do is book a domain and create a few page website to eat into the serious players pie. For eg. I might book few domains like cheapmobileinpune.com or bestmobilephoneinpune.com or
digitalmarketingcourseinpune.com or .in , obviously I do not have an eye for creating an enterprise value I am just interested in driving traffic to my site by hook or by crook . Such businesses do not last longer but definitely create stir for some time. As an online user these fly by night websites deprive the user from quality service or product or knowledge, since in a way they are spamming the search engine.

One of our LIPS Third Eye customer (an established training institute in its own field) have been facing similar problem from an unscrupulous competitor not even smart enough to understand the importance of brand and its positioning especially in retail training. This could possibly have half skilled SEO advisors or consultants as the real influencer and cause of such cheap tricks.

One should always remember no matter whatever updates Google would bring to its algorithm it will always have quality content at the core of its search algorithm since the only difference Google offers compared to other search engines is the best fit result to one’s query. SEO and free traffic through search engine is not an overnight event and if it happens for you should be careful you might have to suffer sometime later and the time to get back to normal would be much larger than it would have otherwise been. As of now with this update in Google algorithm genuine website owners will see some momentary changes in their search rankings before it stabilises for a better future. Panda and Penguin updates from Google did not even care to excuse some big websites who would have also been spending quite an amount on adwords and now its turn for exact match low quality websites.

Let’s see some back of the wall calculation behind the game: We book domains like seotraining , seocourse, seocoursepune , seotrainingpune .com or .in or whatever is available . All put together would cost anything less than Rs 4000 and with free cms templates like wordpress and cheap hosting space all four websites can be up and running at a cost less than Rs 10,000 assuming that these website barely would have any quality content and more of keyword stuffing. This is all they might have to invest to reach to 100% of search queries for these keywords on Google, an equivalent reach for an online advertiser on Google would cost nothing less than Rs 100,000 a year on Google Adwords or an equivalent amount on resource and time for SEO. With this update Google might try to bring down the parity.

Few questions for such players to ponder:
1) What if the targeted keyword looses its significance in future, would they close thier business since the business is keyword dependent?
2) What happens if the website looses its ranking post the latest update ?
3) Would the business owners not find it very difficult to position themselves again for other businesses since they would have already handicapped themselves of genuine marketing efforts and strategy?
